What is a Ruddy?

Ruddy is the color most commonly thought of as being the "True" or "Typical" Abyssinian color. Over many years it still remains the most popular color. Although inaccurate, many people think of a Ruddy as being the "original" Abyssinian color. It is also sometimes affectionately known as the "Cougar" color.


A Ruddy can vary from warm to cool or from light to dark. But the "key" to a Ruddy - is "Black". Only a Ruddy has Black.
